Find me where the wild things are: Magnetic Fields Festival

It’s that time of the year again – no, not Diwali, the I got my Magnetic Fields tickets time. And while I haven’t yet, I couldn’t help but be flooded with memories from my trip there last year.

Jameson put me and a whole bunch of other people on a bus to Alsisar and it was one of the best roadtrips of my life.

Day 1

Pitstop 1 made up for the really early start and how! We stopped for a surprise cookout and BBQ in the middle of literally nowhere. A food truck serving insane pork ribs and of course, lots of whiskey after traversing sandy lanes and routes. The night ended on a high at the magical Alsisar courtyard with a banging set by (can’t remember).

This is what home looked like for three days. Yes, bedouin tents. Yes, I felt terrible for my neighbours who probably didn’t get much sleep because of all the various sounds coming from my tent πŸ˜‰

Day 2

Not much memory of when and how the first night ended but got my bearings just in time for a surreal sunset and good vibes while gearing up for the night.

Desert stage chilling was followed by a cross portfolio Jameson tasting at the War Room – a beautiful World War 2 themed room inside the Mahal. Got my hands on the Jameson 18, Jameson Gold Reserve, Jameson Caskmates and Redbreast – all unreleased in India.

Followed by a mad mad mad set by my favourite Helena Hauff – what a night!

Day 3

The only memory in the blur was this unbelievable set by BLOT.

No sleep for 4 days straight, unreal amount of drinking, great music. Needless to say, I’m going for Magnetic Fields 2017.
